Crafted from iron rich red clay and blended with white clay, unglazed and reduction fired, creating rich and even deep plum or dark chocolate tones with bright warmth in the orange tones rising from the base. The effects are similar to a Nanban wood firing. Holding beautifully in the hand with with a smooth, gently tactile feel of the clay and soft sheen.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHandmade and unique, Handwash recommended.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYoko Romita is based in Southampton producing stoneware pieces from her home studio, her work has a real understated presence to it, allowing the beauty of the natural clay to fully appreciated.
