A classic footed tea bowl with subtle conical form, very fine quality and intricate detail with a bold appearance. Created from Cornish clay with an iron wash glaze, that’s been wood fired with soda applied during firing.

The bold, dark iron wash creates a sense of weight and substance to the vessel whilst giving amazing deep blue and purple or rust tones with a matt metallic surface and soft shine, the overall surface, a depth of tone and textural quality, most notably the finer granular corrugations that blend and complement to great effect, and in places the subtle orange peel effect creating a very unique detail.

Popalini & Jezando are a collaborative creative force, with a studio on the Devon/Cornwall border, North Devon. Creating functional hand thrown stoneware pieces that are both contemporary yet steeped in ancient traditions of the area.

Each handmade and unique, therefore slight variations in shape, size and glaze will occur. Handwash recommended.
