Sodafired Mug by Bob Andrew
Hand Thrown in Devon
Approximate measurements: 8-10cm height x 8-9cm width (incl.handle 12cm). 250 ~ 300ml.

We have a selection of stunning mugs from Bob, skilfully crafted using Cornish stoneware clay that’s been gas fired with soda with a variety of slips, creating very unique and complex effects and combinations of tone and texture. Very functional size and proportions.

1 ~ Is straight sided with calming tones of earthy greens and granite greys with an orange flash, much soda pattern with ‘orange peel’ texture and soft shine with clay inclusions inside.

2 ~ A rounder mug with a bold, matt tan tone blending with stone greys. Inside, earthy browns and blacks contrast superbly.

3 ~ A rounder mug, golden matt tone, bright and striking with a single black stripe of soda pattern. Inside glazed with tenmoku, brown and black tones. Granular feel with a soft shine.

4 ~ A rounder mug with bright orange and earthy tones, wonderful smooth texture. Inside glazed with tenmoku enjoying some nice pools of glassy crackle.

5 ~ Is slightly taller with a flaring form. Matt plum tones and black soda patterns. Inside glazed with wood ash with a fine crackle.

6 ~ A smaller round mug with plenty of soda pattern. The black and electric blue tones of the cobalt create an amazing effect. Inside, glazed with wood ash making a stone grey tone with fine crackle.

7 ~ A taller straight form with striking cobalt electric blues and dark tones of soda pattern. With a fine crackle inside. So comfortable to hold.

Each handmade and unique, therefore slight variations in shape, size and glaze will occur. Handwash recommended.
