Ancient Tree Yunyun // 2014
Sheng Puerh
From a remote Lahu village northwest of Menghai, Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China.

25g Sample or 200g Cake
This tea is organically grown!

Tightly pressed comprising of large flat, twisted and curled leaves with a even distribution of golden buds and leaves of blueish darker tones and leathery hues. The wet leaves giving first a high sharp aroma then quickly a deep rounded aroma with a pleasant touch of dampness brewing a bright warming orange tea soup with excellent clarity, oily consistency. Plenty of body to this tea with a good rich and thick full flavour coating the mouth, very bright energy, smooth and sweet tasting, giving great very long lasting sweet, fruit flavours!

Spring harvest from 400 year old ancient tea trees, growing in a clean and natural environment. The tea trees are situated near a remote undeveloped village in the region and as so have benefitted from not being overpicked, meaning they will offer a great vibrant energy and quality to the finished tea. The leaves have had a rudimentary processing, pressed in 2014 and stored since in Malaysia by Essence of Tea. Having lost nearly all of its original smokiness from the rudimentary processing, the tea has really benefitted from its excellent storage.
