The most complex of tea types. Initially processed like Green tea before being post-fermented by microbes naturally present in the tea leaves. This happens in one of two ways: Slowly over several years known as Sheng or Raw ~ Or quickly in managed hot/humid conditions for up to two months known as Shou or Ripe.
Puerh is the most renowed of all Dark teas being exclusive to China’s Yunnan Province. Like a fine whisky the drinking experience varies from fresh, tangy & moreish to dark, damp & treacly.
