Teng Tiao, Sheng Puerh 2020
Teng Tiao // Cane Tea // 2020
25g Tin or 357g Cake
From Shuangjiang County, Lincang, Southwest Yunnan Province, China.
Large and lengthly twisted and curled leaves and buds, each picking creating a very sculptural form. Greyish brown and light tan hues to the leaves with magnificent golden downy buds giving subtly sweet notes and pleasant rounded earthiness in the aromas.
The damp leaves giving a smooth fruit sweetness from the very tender quality leaves. A thick tea soup with great clarity that’s a vivid peachy amber in colour. Smooth and fresh tasting with fruity notes of apricot, sweet florals and a satisfying pure earthiness at its base, clean mouthfeel with a touch of astringency on the finish but long lasting sweetness.
Harvested in Spring’20 then carefully and skilfully processed, following traditional methods. Cultivated by the Han peoples from ancient large leaved tea species since the Qing dynasty, having developed a signature tea cultivation technique, where tea trees grow and form similar to that of the weeping willow.
