This tea is organically grown!

A unique blend of tea, a vibrant spring harvest sencha and delicate dried wild sakura (cherry) blossoms and leaves. Giving a warm floral aroma of cherry and sweet grassy umami notes. The appearance is a mix of bright green and darker silky needle like leaves and delightful blossoms that are light pink and purples with bright green flat leaf. The tea soup is an emerald green tone with a medium body, full of vibrant grassy notes, balanced astringency with amazing floral flavours giving a long lasting presence. A taste that encapsulates springtime, so full of freshness, umami and sweet florals.

This Sencha has been grown using the Yabukita cultivar with a shaded cultivation and harvested in May. Then undergone light steaming, rolling and drying process. The sakura blossoms are plucked and harvested in the Odawara area between late March and early April.

Wazuka is a tea town in the southeastern area of Kyoto Prefecture. Wazuka has been a tea growing location since the Kamakura period as a main producer following Uji tea processing methods. It thought that the Kaijūsen-ji temple introduced tea to the area and Zen Buddhist monk, Shonin Jishin was the first to cultivate tea on Mt Jubu and then in Wazuka.
