Hand Thrown in Devon
Approximate measurements: 18cm height (incl. handle) x 15cm width (incl. spout) 500ml.
Skilfully and carefully crafted from stoneware iron rich Cornish clay and woodfired in the Anagama kiln at Kigbeare, Devon. Created with an excellent form, balanced weight and proportions.
A stunning stoneware Tenmoku teapot with hand formed brass handle.
An elegant form with gentle bowed walls that has a real element quality to it. The deep tones of the Tenmoku adding weight and substance. On the surface there’s a fine mottled effect within the surface, metallic shine and smooth texture that’s a very satisfying feel.
Finished with a single hole tapered spout with a lovely pour, deep walled lid and beautiful hand formed brass handle, gently arching to create a wonderful aesthetic balance.
One off piece. Handwash recommended.
Popalini & Jezando are a collaborative creative force, with a studio on the Devon/Cornwall border, North Devon. Creating functional hand thrown stoneware pieces that are both contemporary yet steeped in ancient traditions of the area.
