Mitsu ‘Okusan’ Suzuki was a teacher of tea at the Omotesenke school in Kyoto, and also the widow of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, (d.1971) founder of San Francisco Zen Center. There she stayed 20 years after his passing continuing to practice and teach tea ceremony, write poetry and haiku. Returning to Japan in 1993.
This is her second collection of haiku, 100 haiku to honour her 100th birthday.
