In the 1920’s Alishan was the first high mountain region where tea was planted as an experiment to see how elevation would affect the finished tea. Because of this Alishan is the most famous of all the Taiwanese High Mountain regions.

Grown and processed in Shizhuo village, one of the famous tea producing areas for Alishan tea with an elevation of 1,300m above sea level, the tea leaves here grow extra slowly, shrouded in cloud mist all year, with an average temperature below 20ºc which lets more complex chemical compounds to develop & in turn creates a sweeter flavours & higher aromas + higher levels of L-theanine.

This tea is a hand picked harvest in Winter from the Qing Xin (Green Heart) cultivar. The leaves have then undergone processing in the ball rolled style, following traditional techniques by Tea Master Xue.
