This tea is organically grown!

Large leaves with a deep dark blue-ish tone giving fragrant aromas. The tea soup is a rich coppery hue, with a smooth drinking experience with a classic, brisk, flavourful medium strength; satisfying notes of stone fruits, muscatel and spice. Akin to the character of Central Sri Lankan teas.

Harvested in Spring, picked and processed following traditional processing by the Ahinsa Tea Factory.

Ahinsa Tea was a small scale project tea garden first established in 1999, with aims to produce orthodox quality teas that are both labour and environmental friendly. Hence choosing the name 'Ahinsa' meaning non-violent, reflecting their responsiblities and kindness towards the land, people and commitment to organic farming practices. Ahinsa, as part of the Nilmini Estates now supports more than 185 farmers and claims to be one of the most bio-diverse tea plantations in the country.
