10g Taster ~ The essence of Spring preserved in sugar. We are delighted to be offering this delicate tisane. Superbly soft pink Cherry Blossom flowers, giving a fine bouquet of fresh Spring aromas, an amazing floral display as the petals unfurl revealing a silky super sweet flavour. The most delicate and ephemeral treat in your cup. Enjoyed as a fresh sweet infusion, refreshingly cold brewed or as an excellent addition to a bright Sencha. Often enjoyed in Japan at weddings and special occasions, Sakura is a true symbol of Spring and new beginnings.
The flower blossoms are plucked and harvested in the Odawara area between late March and early April. The preparation and production stages include a wash, soak and rinse, stem sorting, drying and a sugar soak, finally the blossoms are preserved in sugar in wooden cases. The blossoms are preserved with sugar to ensure freshness throughout the coming year.
Odawara town is located within the Ashigara Plains, in the western part of Kanagawa Prefecture. Close to the neighbouring Sakawa River & Hakone Mountains. Odawara, A picturesque seaside town overlooking the Pacific Sagami Bay.
