Sheng style Hei Cha
From Various regions of Myanmar - with processing in Yunnan, China.

40g Sample Tin or 200g Cake

This tea is organically grown!

The looser pressed tea has large twisted and curled leaves with a good distribution of bright silvery greenish tips and leaves of soft purple wood tones. The wet leaves giving fruity sweet notes of a warm rounded quality and the tea soup brews a warm gold with great clarity and rich, thick quality.

A familiar and fruity flavour, pleasant bitterness, thick and rich character with a satisfyingly clean, balanced and mellow feeling, enjoying a returning sweetness - making for an easy drinking experience, offering up full flavours of a young Sheng, it shows promising beginnings to this tea as it develops. Good for drinking now or suitable for ageing.

From trees growing as part of natural mountain forest environments from various regions in Myanmar, predominately Kokang. Harvested in Spring from uncultivated old trees, the leaf material has then been blended, traditionally processed and pressed in Menghai County, Yunnan and have benefitted from good clean storage in Taiwan. Sourced by our friends Paolo & Una who specialise in sourcing rare and interesting Puerh with a focus on Qi, predominately selecting teas with excellent Taiwanese storage. They have chosen a โ€˜green markโ€™ cake wrapper design to be a nice nod back to the classic puerh production of the 80โ€™s & 90โ€™s.

Preparation:
With care, prise the cake apart using a sharp knife or pick. Gently prise the required amount of leaves from the cake, taking care not the break the leaves. Then separate into loose leaves, and you're ready to brew.
