Woodfired Porcelain Shino Teabowl by Linda Unsworth
Hand Thrown in Pembrokeshire, Wales
Approximate measurements: 4cm H x 7cm ø, 40ml

A beautifully proportioned high quality, open form footed porcelain teabowl. Skilfully crafted with care and glazed with shino, creating a smooth surface with subtle texture, soft shine and very fine crackle that will become more pronounced with use. Warming peachy tones and creamy, off white blushes on the surface, full of complex Dartmoor granite inclusions and iron blasts creating a natural speckling. A very considered piece with a timeless quality - ideal size for gong fu tea sessions.

We have 4 available. Each handmade and unique, therefore slight variations in shape, size will occur. Handwash recommended.

1 ~ Soft peachy tones, a little off white with an even spotted, speckled surface.
2 ~ Warming tones on the speckled surface, paler inside with silvery drip details.
3 ~ Smooth and evenly speckled with iron blasts, the shino - nice warming tones.
4 ~ Subtle peachy blushes with more of a creamy, off white tone on the surface and inside, with a large amount of iron blasts creating an egg shell appearance. Please note there is an iron blast on the lip that will soften with use, which adds to the tea bowls natural beauty.

Based in North Pembrokeshire, producing work from her home studio. Linda is a self taught potter, who enjoys the meditative experience that’s created by working with such natural elements as raw clay, glazes and the rhythm of her momentum wheel. Producing beautiful wood fired ceramics that really highlight this long process leaving visible traces of flame flashes and fly ash on her pots. Her approach to the form and style of her work is inspired by her natural surroundings and informed by Eastern aesthetics through traditional Japanese & Korean pottery and philosophy and her love of tea drinking.
