Woodfired Unglazed Teapot by Popalini & Jezando
Hand Thrown in Devon
Approximate measurements: 15.5cm height (incl. handle) x 14cm width (incl. spout) 370ml
Skilfully and carefully crafted from stoneware Cornish clay and woodfired in the Anagama kiln at Kigbeare, Devon. An exquisite teapot with a refined and unique form, complemented by a sculptural hand hammered brass handle. Skilfully crafted with great care and attention to detail, beautifully balanced proportions, a lightweight quality and graceful pour.
Fired unglazed, to create an organic colouration on the smooth surface blending warm flame flashes that band around the body and fly ash creating a smoky mottled appearance. The unglazed interior shows off the natural beauty of the clay and will serve to enhance future tea sessions as the teapot seasons. Finished with a angular finial on the lid and a hand hammered brass handle, gently arching to create a wonderful aesthetic balance.
Smaller in capacity than their previous teapots we’ve received before, which is so nice - as it makes for a rather indulgent one cup teapot to elevate your individual tea rituals.
One off piece. Handwash recommended.
